DAI understands that the budget is important, but not always paramount. Understanding the true cost early on in the design process is paramount so that achievable budgets are submitted without being overly conservative or aggressive. The development of a project's budget is an art, not a science. Appropriate conceptual budgets cannot be achieved independently by an architect, engineer or a builder. Our firm has developed and implemented a system of checks and balances into its budgeting process whereby all three disciplines and the owner join forces to forecast reliable budget costs. Through this approach, we are able to help our clients avoid inaccurate estimates that result in early cuts or late additions that will be regretted.
