The New England Healthcare Engineers Society (NEHES) held their 2004 Annual Conference and Exhibition at Bretton Woods in the White Mountains of New Hampshire in October. DAI has participated at their annual event for the past seven years.
Earlier this year, DAI sponsored the NEHES 2004 Spring Educational Seminar. A separate seminar was held in March for the Vermont Healthcare Engineers Society (VHES) members at the Fanny Allen campus of Fletcher Allen Healthcare. Donald Leonard, our Senior Vice President of Quality Assurance was invited by Ray Forsell, Chairman of the VHES, to share his knowledge of Life Safety Code criteria specific to fire and smoke separations as well as compartmentations in healthcare and business occupancies. Additionally, Mr. Leonard provided a review of the AIA 2001 Guidelines for Design and Construction of Hospital and Healthcare Facilities changes. Mr. Forsell will be one of the coordinators of the 2005 Annual Conference that is being held in Vermont and he has invited Mr. Leonard to speak at that event.
Mr. Leonard is currently under a publishing agreement with the National Fire Protection Association.
