620 Washington Street in Winchester, Massachusetts, is an exciting new project being developed by Winchester Hospital. DiGiorgio Associates was brought on board in the early stages of this project to work with the hospital and their developer, College Street Partners, to create concept imagery for this new complex. The early development and conceptual design process has evolved since the first meeting with the local regulatory boards to insure this project is a welcome addition to Winchester for all concerned. The scope will consist of over 200,000 square feet of outpatient, commercial, and physician space along with a parking structure that will accommodate approximately 600 cars.

Our firm began with visits to the immediate and surrounding areas to capture the essence of Winchester through visual documentation and historical research. This was translated into the architecture of the proposed building(s) to blend within the surrounding neighborhood and community. The evolution of the imagery created for 620 Washington ultimately had an impact on receiving the new Health Services Overlay District (HSOD) zoning in June, 2007. This was just the beginning of the collaborative effort between the Winchester Hospital Project Team, the local regulatory boards, and the residents. The imagery and renderings of the new complex continue to serve as a key visual tool for the ongoing Town Meetings.
At the close of 2007, the Project Team grew when DAI became partnered with AMB Development to advance the conceptual design based on transactions to date. This team will now focus on the details and refinements in conjunction with the results of the Town Meetings.
