Redington-Fairview General Hospital

Redington-Fairview General Hospital is a valued client that DAI and MBI have been working with for over two decades with our first project in 1988. Our next project was the implementation of an updated Master Facility Plan we developed together in 1996. This award-winning project encompassed 63,000 square feet of new construction and renovations. A major infrastructure upgrade, along with asbestos abatement, and mechanical, electrical and plumbing improvements for the new Central Chiller were vital elements of this ambitious venture.

In 2001, our team embarked on the development and implementation of a new Master Facility Plan with the hospital that identified a new Walk-in Care Center adjacent to the existing 10,000 square foot Emergency Department. It also focused on improvements to Diagnostic Imaging, Women’s Health, Oncology, the Pharmacy, the Medical/Surgical Department, Educational Classrooms, Administration, Materials Management, and infrastructure upgrades for potential change. In 2005, our Engineering Division was awarded the design of a $4.8 million Power Plant for the hospital. The project created a 3,700 square foot building to house new electric service, an emergency generator, storage of 15,000 gallons of fuel and three boilers.

A groundbreaking ceremony was held on July 10, 2007, to kick off the addition of a new 59,000 square foot Medical Office Center to Redington-Fairview General Hospital. To accommodate the new building and consolidate physician practices on the campus, three residential-type buildings needed to be demolished. The healthcare practices include Internal Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery, Pediatrics, Obstetrics, Gastroenterology and General Surgery. A new lobby with connecting enclosed walkway to the hospital enhances accessiblity for all visitors and staff. A public garden is being planned for an area located between the new center and the hospital. An Open House was held in November 2009.
