DAI and MBI provided design/build services on our first project for The Memorial Hospital. This project, The Merriman House, consisted of a 45-bed Intermediate Care Facility connected to the hospital. In 1995, DAI and MBI provided design and construction services for the renovation of the hospital’s Laboratory, Radiology, and Day Surgery. The next assignment was the design and construction of a new Medical Office Building and new hospital front entrance. The entire project was completed in less than a year. After performing Facility Master Planning in 2000, the DAI/MBI team constructed a new Emergency Department and renovations to the Lobby, Registration and the Laboratory.
The Memorial Hospital has since been designated a Critical Access Hospital. The hospital commissioned DAI to update the Facility Master Plan with an emphasis on meeting the requirements of the CAH Designation. The Facility Master Plan focused on increasing the efficiency of the nursing unit, consolidating imaging services, expanding surgery and improving maternity, pharmacy and laboratory. Expansion of the medical office building was also a focal point of the planning process.
A CON was approved in April 2006 followed by groundbreaking ceremonies in September 2006. The final programs encompassed a new Medical/Surgical Unit (22 beds) and ICU Wing with Digital Imaging Department, Surgical Services, Pharmacy, Laboratory, Maternity, and an Observation Unit. Completion of the new Medical/Surgical and ICU was celebrated with an Open House for the community on June 20, 2007. Multiple renovations were completed in 2009. MBI was Construction Manager on this project.
