The Saint Elizabeth Community

Monitor Builders Inc. (MBI) completed construction of Saint Elizabeth Court, located on Melrose Street in Providence, Rhode Island, in the fall of 2003. This project, our second with The Saint Elizabeth Community, transformed a historical neighborhood nursing home into a much needed affordable, assisted living residence.
Working with the Rhode Island Housing Authority, the historic nature of the existing facility was maintained while adding an 8,850 square foot, three-story addition that increased the number of units to 69. Walls within the existing building were demolished to create a more spacious feel. The facility offers its residents a divided dining area, private dining room for special family events, a fitness center, laundry facilities, a library, common living room, hair salon, country store, chapel, first floor veranda and sun rooms. There is a parking lot to accommodate 45 vehicles. |
